Halloween is just around the corner. It’s that time of the year again when kids gear up with their costumes, go trick or treat and indulge in scary movies. But for fans of The Simpsons, it also signifies the release of the much awaited Bart Simpson‘s Treehouse of Horror #13.
Treehouse of Horror, which is now available in market, is an annual anthology released by Bongo Comics. It is considered as one of the highly anticipated comics of the animated series not just because of its horror theme, but because of the diverse pool of talent it attracts from mainstream writers and artists who are not usually associated with the franchise and the creative freedom they’re allowed to infuse. Given its Halloween-themed premise, creators, as well as the writers, are not forced to follow any style guides and are at liberty to depict the Springfield population in their own artistic tone.
In Treehouse of Horror #13, comedians Patton Oswalt (King of Queens), Brian Posehn (Just Shoot Me), Gerry Duggan, and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) join forces with Bongo’s Ian Boothby and his life partner Pia Guerra (Y: The Last Man), along with Hillary Barta and Tone Rodriguez, join forces to bring forth a 64-page king-sized comic filled with horrifically hilarious tales that will hopefully satisfy Simpsons fans.
As the name connotes, the comic is the 13th edition released by Bongo since it published its first issue in 1995.
In addition to the Treehouse of Horror comics, fans can also grab a copy of The Simpsons Comics #134, which is now out in the market. In this edition, Homer saves the day during a work-related cruise by proving to be “unsinkable.”
Meanwhile, fans can catch Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the rest of the residents of Springfield on The Simpsons every Sunday at 8/7c on FOX.
