The Vampire Diaries fans, prepare for another infusion of hot, foreign vampires. TVGuide has revealed that the show has cast the two remaining Original Vampires who will appear later in season 3. British actor Caspar Zafer and Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic will take on the roles of Finn and Kol, Klaus’ two other vampire siblings.
By my count, this should conclude the casting of the Original family. We know that parents Mikael and Esther had seven children. One died before they moved to America while Henrick was killed by the werewolves. So when Esther turned her family into vampires, there was Mikael and her five living children. We’ve already met Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah, making Finn and Kol the last two Originals.
What will this fresh blood bring? Well, since it was established that Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah were the three closest siblings, Finn and Kol most likely did their own thing for a long time. Will they side with their brother, or be turned against him? The Original family dynamic is sure to be complicated by the news that Klaus killed their mother and their father, so if and when Stefan takes the daggers out from the bodies in the coffins he stole, the results could be a deadly family reunion.
The two new Originals will first appear in flashbacks in the 13th episode of the season, currently slated to air January 26. New episodes of The Vampire Diaries return Thursday, January 5 at 8pm on the CW.
