There are a lot of relationships on The Vampire Diaries. So many relationships, in fact, that it’s often hard to untangle the show’s complicated web of love, hate and desire.
That’s where the Vampire Diaries infographic can help.
How many men have been in love with Elena? Why does Jeremy have so many dead girlfriends? Who has competed with whom for love? The answers to these questions and more can be found in this Vampire Diaries infographic. Check it out below!
NOTE: Due to the rapidly changing nature of Vampire Diaries relationships — and of the show itself — new relationships may not have found a place in the Vampire Diaries infographic. Sorry about that. But seriously, you try keeping up with the love lives of these people!

Just so you won’t get too mad at us, here are a few relationships that didn’t quite make it into the infographic:
- Because Alaric is an “adult,” his love connections are a bit separate. If there had been space, we would of course have mentioned his romances with Isobel, Aunt Jenna and Dr. Meredith Fell. But there wasn’t space.
- Does the sexy flirtation between Klaus and Caroline count as a relationship yet? Because if it does, we didn’t get it on the Vampire Diaries infographic.
- Keeping up with Damon’s sex life is nearly impossible. Thus, the vampire’s sexcapades with Rebekah were missed.
- There just wasn’t any way to add in the friendship between Elena, Bonnie and Caroline. There are too many lines on this infographic as it is.
Did we miss any other relationships in the Vampire Diaries infographic? If so, let us know in the comments section below!

Laurel grew up in Mamaroneck, NY, Grosse Pointe, MI and Bellevue WA. She then went on to live in places like Boston, Tucson, Houston, Wales, Tanzania, Prince Edward Island and New York City before heading back to Seattle. Ever since early childhood, when she became addicted to The Muppet Show, Laurel has watched far too much TV. Current favorites include Chuck, Modern Family, Supernatural, Mad Men and Community. Laurel received a BA in Astrophysics (yes, that is possible) from Colgate University and a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies and History of Science from Columbia University before she realized that television is much better than studying.
