The reigning Voice (coaching) champion is coming back for another shot at victory. NBC has announced that in addition to returning coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and newcomer Kelly Clarkson, the fourth coach on the panel for season 14 will be Alicia Keys. Keys joined The Voice in season 11 and continued into season 12, in which her artist Chris Blue won, and she will be returning for at least one more year.
Is Jennifer Hudson a Better Judge on The Voice Because of American Idol?>>> “We are thrilled to welcome back Alicia’s positive energy, competitive spirit and sheer talent. She brings unparalleled expertise and has proven she knows how to help artists win,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “The chemistry between Alicia, Kelly, Adam and Blake will make for a wildly unpredictable and compelling season 14!”
The announcement was made to the public on The Voice’s official YouTube page where Kelly Clarkson, who was announced to join season 14 back in May 2017, introduced Alicia back into the fold. The clip is brief but it already manages to show off the chemistry between Kelly and her fellow coaches, especially Alicia herself.
Alicia left The Voice following her season 12 victory to focus more on her own musical career. She released a new album, Here, in late 2016, which topped the R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Now she is back on The Voice and ready to defend her “crown,” as she tells Kelly Clarkson in the video announcement.

In addition to her time on The Voice, Alicia Keys has won 15 Grammys. Keys is also an actress, New York Times best-selling author, entrepreneur and activist in the global fight against HIV and AIDS.
Are you excited for Alicia’s return to The Voice? Do you think Kelly Clarkson is the right addition for this panel of returning judges? Are you disappointed that neither Miley or Jennifer Hudson will be back for season 14?
