Baseball fans will have another reason to tune in to their television sets this week.
The popular daytime series, The Young and the Restless, will be having not one, not two, but four Milwaukee Brewers players as its guest stars on June 20th.
Chris Capuano, Jeff Suppan, Bill Hall and J.J. Hardy will be dropping by Genoa City next week.
Both Capuano and Suppan are pitchers for the Brewers, while Hall and Hardy are the team’s center fielder and shortstop, respectively.
Capuano, 28, was drafted as an amateur by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1999 and later went on to play for Team USA in the 2001 World Cup of Baseball. On December 1, 2003, Capuano was traded to the Brewers, with player Richie Sexson being sent to the Diamondbacks.
32-year-old Suppan was studying at Crespi Carmelite High School when he was drafted as an amateur by the Boston Red Sox in 1993. He was picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1998, and went on to play for three more teams (Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals) before signing with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2006.
Hall, 27, joined the Milwaukee Brewers in 2002, and three years later, helped the team get to their first 500 season since 1992.
Hardy, 24, was chosen by the Milwaukee Brewers at the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. He was attending Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona at the time.
The four Brewers will get to share the small screen with The Young and the Restless regulars Peter Bergman and Michelle Stafford. The scene will have Jack (Bergman) at Newman doing a photo shoot for his senatorial race when the four players appear and proceed to help Jack with the photo shoot. As Jack and the four players engage in a casual conversation, Phyllis (Stafford) interrupts the photo shoot in a comical way by talking about baseball statistics.
The four Brewers are not the first group of baseball favorites to have set foot on The Young and the Restless. Former right fielder David Justice, who played for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics, appeared on the soap in 1992. Free agent first baseman Brian Jordan appeared on the show in 2000.
