CBS has announced premiere dates for three new mid-season shows, along with the series finale date for Two and a Half Men, which has been a staple for the network for the past 12 years, and another sitcom changing timeslots.
Two and a Half Men, which is currently in its final season, will be given a one-hour sendoff when it airs its series finale on Thursday, February 19 at 9pm. Men originally starred Charlie Sheen, but he was replaced by Ashton Kutcher after he made unflattering comments towards creator Chuck Lorre (not to mention his many other outbursts and meltdowns). Angus T. Jones also left the show surrounding controversy, after he said the show contradicted his values.
With Two and a Half Men going off the air, there will be an open timeslot on Thursday nights, and the network is doing some shuffling around. A remake of The Odd Couple, starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon as Oscar Madison and Felix Unger, respectively, will debut right before the Men finale, on February 19 at 8:30pm, taking over the timeslot that Mom currently has.
Mom will then move to 9:30pm the following week, on February 26. Repeats of The Big Bang Theory will air at 9pm, as it seems the network doesn’t have any other comedies waiting in the wings to schedule. The McCarthys is expected to end its freshman run before this new schedule takes effect.
These aren’t the only announcements CBS made. Two more new shows have secured premiere dates.
New drama Battle Creek, created by Breaking Bad‘s Vince Gilligan, will premiere on Sunday, March 1 at 10pm, taking over CSI‘s timeslot. (The CSI season finale is two weeks prior, on February 15.) Creek stars Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters as law enforcement officers who couldn’t be more opposite in their views of the world and how to solve crimes.
And CSI spin-off Cyber starring Patricia Arquette is making its debut on Wednesday, March 4 at 10pm. The original plan was to have Cyber take over the CSI timeslot in mid-season, but that seems to have changed. Instead, Cyber is taking Stalker‘s timelot. CBS notes that Stalker will return later in the season, though a date has not been announced.
