Biography
Actor Chaske Spencer began his acting career in 2002, playing a minor role in the film Skins. He was born in Oklahoma and is of Sioux, Nez Perce, Cherokee, Creek, French, and Dutch descent. In 1994, he graduated from Clearwater Valley High School and took up acting at the Lewiston Civic Theater.
He continued his education at Lewis Clark State College, but dropped out after a year to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. After several odd jobs, he underwent lessons from coaches like David Gideon and Ed Kovens.
Chaske Spencer’s other screen credits include the 2003 television movie DreamKeeper and the television miniseries Into the West. A Native American from the Lakota nation, he made his film debut in New Moon, the sequel to the blockbuster flick Twilight. He became a member of the wolf pack, which is portrayed in the original books as Native American. In 2009, he reprised his role as Sam Uley in the sequel, New Moon, as well as in the third installment of the saga, Eclipse.
