Biography
Born on December 6, 1981 in London, actress Ashley Madekwe received a GCSE in Drama and BTec from the BRIT School of Performing Arts. She also earned a foundation course at LAMDA, in addition to training as a flamenco and period dancer. She later studied at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she appeared in several stage productions. She became known for her role on Secret Diary of A Call Girl, before she appeared on the CW’s The Beautiful Life. She began her career by taking on a role in the film Storm Damage, but went on to appear on numerous TV shows.
Ashley Madekwe was later seen in Woody Allen’s film, Cassandra’s Dream. On the small screen, she has had roles on Drop Dead Gorgeous and the pilot West 10 LDN. She also portrays the character Molly on the show Bedlam. Other credits of hers include How to Lose Friends & Alienate People in 2008, Wallander, and Above Their Station in 2010.
In 2011, Madekwe was cast on the ABC series Revenge as Ashley Davenport. At present, she plays Tituba on the WGN series Salem.
