Biography
When he joined Big Brother, Mike “Boogie” Malin was working as a restaurateur from Concord, New Hampshire. He some of his time playing various sports, such as tennis, basketball and volleyball, and rooting for his favorite sports teams the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics, the Bruins and the New England Patriots. He enjoys listening to the music of Jay-Z, Kanye West and Usher, and is a big fan of actors Keira Knightley and Vince Vaughn, who starred in the comedy film Old School. Among his favorite television shows are 60 Minutes and Lost .
When Mike first signed up to appear in the season 2 of the reality series, Big Brother, he was only 30 years old, living in Los Angeles and the proud owner of a local bar. He captured the title of Head of Household during the first week, but was unable to get far in the competition despite his alliance with Chilltown, of which Dr. Will Kirby was part. However, during his brief stay in the house, Mike managed to engage in a romantic relationship with his housemate, Krista. Ultimately, he was nominated for eviction and eliminated on week 4, consequently putting him in 6th place.
Mike had far better luck when he returned for the show’s special season, Big Brother: All-Stars. He not only made it all the way to the Final Two with Erika Landin , but also managed to gain the majority of the jury’s votes, making him $500,000 wealthier. In the course of the competition, Mike had become Head of Household twice, first during week 7 and then again during week 9, and had only been nominated for eviction once. He and Erika had also developed a romantic relationship, but Mike later claimed that it was all part of his plan to get to the top.
Since appearing on the show, he has been seen on Battle of the Network Reality Stars and Dr. 90210. He was also on Enrique Iglesias’ music video for r Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song) and the film Gun. In 2011, he was asked to appear on Big Brother season 13, where he and several alums returned to play doubles with eight new houseguests for a chance to win the grand prize of $500,000.
