Biography
Born on August 2, 1980 in Newport, Rhode Island, Nadia Bjorlin grew up in Sweden until she was seven. Her father is a Swedish composer and conductor, while her Persian mother is an interior decorator. The family moved to Sweden, his father’s homeland, when she was just a couple of months old. As such, she speaks Swedish, Persian, and English. She is also noted for her soprano singing voice. Bjorlin went to the Palm Beach County School of the Arts when her family moved to Florida, where she excelled in music and theater. She had once competed in the Miss Florida Teen USA Pageant, where she emerged as the second runner-up.
Other than singing, Bjorlin also plays the flute, harp, guitar, and piano. When she was a junior in high school, the Bjorlins moved to New York City where Nadia then attended the Professional Children’s School. Here is where she won first place in the Metro Lyric Opera Competition in 1999. When she graduated from high school, however, Bjorlin’s interest shifted from singing to acting.
Bjorlin’s screen credits include the short-lived UPN series Sex, Love & Secrets, plus Jake in Progress and Out of Practice. He has also appeared in an independently produced feature film If I Had Known I Was Genius alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Tara Reid, and Sharon Stone. She also hosted Coming Out with Reichen, an Internet radio show. Her biggest role, however, is that of Chloe Lane , an enigmatic opera singer on the NBC hit soap opera Days of our Lives.
According to Nadia Bjorlin, her dream role is Wonder Woman. She believes she has the abilities and strength unlike your typical Hollywood actress. She calls herself Amazonian since she stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and her muscles, she says, are very strong. “I don’t look like I’m going to break in half like most of these women in the industry are,” she concludes.
