Biography
Robin Victory in Europe Strasser, who was born on May 7, 1945 in New York City, New York, is best known for her Award winning portrayal of Dorian Cramer Lord in One Life to Live. She stepped into the role in 1979 but left it in 1987, soon returning to join the cast from 1993 to 2000. Three years later, she reprised the role once more.
Robin Strasser was raised in the New York City borough of Brooklyn and graduated from the High School of Performing Arts. She later received a full scholarship to the Yale University School of Drama, and began working on her acting career during the early 1960s. She ventured out into Broadway, polishing her skills by appearing on productions of Chapter Two and The Shadow Box. In 1982, Strasser won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her work in One Life to Live. Having numerous accolades to her name, she also won the Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1996 for Outstanding Lead Actress, and in 2001 for Outstanding Female Scene Stealer.
Prior to her renowned performance on the soap, she landed the role of Rachel Davis Matthews in Another World. She also booked the part of Dr. Christina Karras Martin in All My Children, appearing in two episodes from 2003 to 2005. Strasser has been a guest star on numerous other TV productions, namely Dharma & Greg, Passions, Grosse Pointe, and MacGyver. Her film credits include Loose Women, Picture This and Shot or Be Shot. The daughter of Martin and Anne Strasser, her parents divorced when she was only a baby. This didn’t stop her career though, as Robin even became the founding member of the American Conservatory Theatre. Since then, she has been seen on other shows like Coach, Knots Landing, The Young Riders, Highway to Heaven and Murphy Brown.
