American actor Kevin Weisman was born on December 29, 1970 in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree from the university’s prestigious School of Theatre, Film and Television. He also took further training at the Circle in the Square Theatre in New York City.
Weisman’s primary acting vehicle is the stage. He is a founding member of the Buffalo Nights Theatre Company in Los Angeles, whose productions have won numerous awards. He appeared in local productions of plays such as Anatol, Madman and the Nun, The Firebugs, Suburban Motel, Incident at Vichy, the West Coast prmeiere of Sophistry, and the Garland-winning Apollo of Bellac.
Weisman also has appeared extensively on television and film. His first roles in both media were minor: the 1994 film Cage II and a guest role in a 1995 episode of Frasier. He has gone on to play guest roles in shows like ER, The Drew Carey Show, Just Shoot Me!, JAG, Roswell, The Pretender and The X Files. He also played recurring roles in the shows Felicity and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
His best-known acting role came in 2001, however, when he joined the cast of the hit drama Alias. He played the role of Marshall Flinkman, the resident tech geek of the SD-6 (and later the CIA), whose eccentric characteristics and social ineptitude is balanced by his unparalleled knowledge in many fields of science and technology. He played the role until the series’ conclusion in 2006.
Weisman also played roles in films such as Man of the Century, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Buying the Cow and Clerks II. Aside from acting, he has also dabbled in production, having produced and acted in the film The Illusion. He was also the drummer of the band Trainwreck, the side project of Tenacious D’s Kyle Gass.
