Model, author and actress Priscilla Presley was born May 24, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. Her father, a U.S. Air Force pilot, died in a plane crash shortly after her birth. Her mother remarried another Air Force Officer and they moved to West Germany, where she met Elvis Presley. She was just 14 then. After eight years of togetherness, they married on May 1, 1967. When Elvis died, she started working for films and TV shows.
Presley was listed by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world in 1992. She is a developer of a fragrance line that produces Moments, Experiences, Indian Summer and Roses and More. Presley also owned a boutique in 1973-76, where Natalie Wood, Barbra Streisand and Cher shopped. In 1998, she was conferred an honorary degree as doctor of humanities from Rhodes College. In 2006, she went to Australia and launched her line of bed linens to the international market. It was called the Priscilla Presley Collection.
She was executive producer for Elvis, Elvis: The Tribute and Finding Graceland. She was offered a role as one of the angels on the 1976 TV series Charlie's Angels, but she turned it down. Presley also starred in The Naked Gun films. In 1998, she wrote the book Elvis and Me, an autobiography about her life with the rock and roll star. It was later adapted to a TV miniseries.
Priscilla Presley was a celebrity contestant on season 6 of ABC's reality series Dancing with the Stars. She was paired with professional dancer
Louis Van Amstel .
