Fall TV is back, with plenty of shows returning to our screens. There are some more highly anticipated than others — shows that you want to make sure you tune into week after week. Whether you’re into comedy, drama or a mixture, you’ll want to watch these top 10 returning shows for fall 2017.
10. The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory returns for its 11th season and there are already plenty of questions. What’s next for Leonard and Penny? Will Raj succeed in a life without being connected to daddy’s purse strings? And most importantly, will Amy say yes? Season 11 isn’t going to be an easy ride for our four geeky friends and the gorgeous, grounding women in their lives.
The Big Bang Theory returns Monday, Sept. 25 at 8/7c on CBS.
9. Grey’s Anatomy
After the fiery ending to Grey’s Anatomy Season 13, the next season is going to be one you want to tune in for. Eliza Minnick is definitely out, which will be interesting for Arizona moving forward. We also lose Steph, as she made a choice to live her life instead of being in a hospital all the time. On top of that, the Season 14 premiere is going to introduce the new characters for the Grey’s Anatomy firefighter spin-off premiering sometime next year.
Grey’s Anatomy returns on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8/7c on ABC for a two-hour event.

8. Riverdale
You would think that the mystery of “who killed Jason?” being solved would be the end of the show, but that is definitely not the case. Riverdale Season 2 already has a new mystery, thanks to that shocking Season 1 finale: who shot Fred Andrews? Things are also not going to be easy for Betty and Jughead, despite their wish to be together, especially with the arrival of Toni Topaz. There are a few other cast changes, including Charles Melton coming on board to replace Ross Bulter as Reggie and Graham Phillips joining as Veronica’s ex, Nick St. Clair.
Riverdale Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 8/7c on The CW.
7. Supergirl
Whether you’re a fan of the Supergirl comics or not, Season 3 of The CW show is definitely something you won’t want to miss. The Season 2 finale teased the new villain, Reign, who is a genetically created “Worldkiller” in the comic books. Reign in the series will be played by Odette Annable and she will be a villain unlike anything seen before, especially since she has one specific agenda: to conquer Earth with or without Kara’s help.

6. The Walking Dead
Carol is ready for war against Negan in The Walking Dead Season 8. If you want to see Negan and his Saviors finally get their comeuppance, you’ll want to tune in for the premiere. However, Negan fans don’t need to despair, as there will be a lot more of him coming up. The trailer also hints that this could be the end for Rick. Could the show work without him?
The Walking Dead Season 8 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 8/7c on AMC.
5. Supernatural
Mary and Lucifer are now trapped in the alternate world, while Dean and Sam have the spawn of Satan to raise. Supernatural Season 13 is already promising to be a hot and interesting season. If you love everything Castiel, demons, angels and anything in between, you’ll want to tune in. We’re already promised the return of characters, including Missouri Moseley. At the same time, we have the backdoor pilot for Supernatural spin-off Wayward Sisters to look forward to. This spin-off will also introduce new character Patience, played by Clark Backo.
Supernatural Season 13 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 8/7c on The CW.
4. Outlander
It’s already back, but Outlander is not a series to miss. This epic love story across two time periods returns with the couple we’ve rooted for from the beginning — now centuries apart. Claire has to learn to live with her estranged husband, Frank, who just wants to make things work. Jamie has to learn to live without Claire, despite being ready to die at the Battle of Culloden. Is any of this possible and how will they reunite 20 years later?
Outlander Season 3 airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Starz.
3. Arrow
Oliver Queen’s story came full circle with the end of Arrow Season 5. After five years, we learned how Oliver went from a whiny playboy to the Green Arrow, and how he became worthy of that title. Season 5 ended with an epic finale, which unfortunately meant the death of the best villain ever, Prometheus. More importantly, it left us with the fate of most characters up in the air, with the explosion on the island. Tune in to Season 6 if you want to know who survived.

2. NCIS
NCIS Season 14 ended with Gibbs and McGee stuck in Paraguay, after their mission to save a Navy SEAL went wrong. The team will need to work together if they hope to find their stranded members, and we’re promised a traumatized Gibbs after he gets back home. Just what will happen to him in Paraguay? While Jennifer Esposito is leaving the show, fans will get to meet newcomer Maria Bello, who will play Special Agent Jacqueline Sloan.
NCIS returns to Tuesdays from Sept. 26 at 8/7c on CBS.
1. This Is Us
The top spot just has to go to NBC’s #1 freshman drama, This Is Us. The show, which will definitely stick to its Tuesday night spot, returns on the back of Jack and Rebecca’s fight. Rebecca decided to join a band and Jack was less than pleased with the idea. In the present day, the Big Three will celebrate their 37th birthday, although things don’t look exactly like a happy affair according to the promo pictures. There’s also the possibility we’ll find out just what happened to Jack and how it affected the Big Three at the time.
This Is Us returns on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9/8c on NBC.
