Following news of renewals, cancellations and new shows for the 2014-2015 season from FOX, NBC and the CW, ABC joined the fray late Thursday.
ABC Cancels Trophy Wife and More Comedies>>
The network, which hadn’t previously renewed anything, let loose a slew of renewals for top dramas and ordered plenty of new shows, including another series from Shonda Rhimes (joining Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy) and a drama from the Oscar-winning writer of 12 Years a Slave. It’s also doubling down on the Marvel universal with a renewal for Agents of SHIELD and a pickup for Agent Carter.

Here’s a rundown of what returning shows were renewed for the 2014-2015 season and what new shows will be coming to ABC.
RENEWALS
–Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.EL.D. has been renewed for season 2.
–Resurrection has been renewed for season 2.
–The Goldbergs has been renewed for season 2.
–Scandal has been renewed for season 4.
–Once Upon a Time has been renewed for season 4.
–Revenge has been renewed for season 4.
–Modern Family has been renewed for season 6.
–The Middle has been renewed for season 6.
–Castle has been renewed for season 7.
–Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for season 11.
NEW DRAMAS
How to Get Away with Murder: The latest show from executive producer Shonda Rhimes (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy), this drama centers on a criminal defense professor embroiled in a murder plot and her law school students. It stars Viola Davis (The Help), the latest in a long series of prominent, Oscar-nominated African-American actors leading new TV shows (like her The Help co-star Octavia Spencer in FOX’s Red Band Society, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson in FOX’s hop-hop drama Empire and Alfre Woodard on NBC’s State of Affairs).
Marvel’s Agent Carter: Set in 1946, this new drama from the Marvel film universe stars Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, her character from the Captain America films, who goes on missions for Tony Stark’s father at the start of SHIELD.
American Crime: From John Ridley, the Oscar-winning writer of 12 Years a Slave, this drama follows the live of the people involved in a racially-charged murder trial. It stars Timothy Hutton (Leverage) and Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives).
Forever: Starring Ioan Gruffud, this drama centers on a New York medical examiner with a secret: he’s immortal.
The Whispers: From executive producer Steven Spielberg, this alien invasion drama stars Lily Rabe (American Horror Story) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes).
NEW COMEDIES
Selfie: From the creator of Suburgatory and starring Doctor Who‘s Karen Gillan, this single-camera comedy is about a woman whose break-up goes viral and gets her a ton of social media attention.
Black-ish: This is a single-camera comedy starring Anthony Anderson about an upper-middle class African-American family.
Manhattan Love Story: This romantic comedy is about the difference between men and women as seen through the eyes of a newly dating couple.
Galavant: This single-camera comedy from the creator of The Neighbors is a musical fairy tale about a prince’s quest for revenge on the king who stole his true love.
