ABC is targeting women this summer with a double dose of sexy, salacious shows Monday nights.
The Bachelorette will begin season 9 on Monday, May 20 from 9-11 pm, most likely following the final performance show of Dancing with the Stars. It will move to its regular time slot, 8-10 pm, starting May 27.
The identity of the ninth Bachelorette will be revealed during the “After the Final Rose” special for the current season of The Bachelor on Monday, March 11 at 10 pm. All eight previous Bachelorettes have been Bachelor rejects, so it’s safe to assume that one of the women Sean Lowe sent packing will wind up with a second chance at love.
This will continue the franchise’s impressive ability to recycle its losers for new shows. There hasn’t been a completely new, unknown Bachelor or Bachelorette since Matt Grant in 2008.
The summer will also play home to ABC’s new scripted drama Mistresses, based on the British series of the same name. Premiering Monday, May 27 at 10 pm, the drama about four sexy women with scandalous secret lives stars Alyssa Milano, Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, and Lost‘s Yunjin Kim.
This pair of summer shows is sure to delight women of a certain age who like nothing better than curling up with a nice box of wine to watch ladies taking charge of their love lives.
