Biography
Amy Pietz originally trained as a ballet dancer but later discovered her passion for acting when she attended the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, as well as the DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. In 1992, she made her acting debut on the TV series Highlander and then became more familiar to TV viewers three years later as se was cast on Caroline in the City, where she played the role of Annie Spadaro, the across-the-hall neighbor of Caroline Duffy (Lea Thompson), who is known for her promiscuity and her outrageous outfits. She was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in 1999.
In 2004, Pietz was cast in her next regular television role, when she joined the cast of the sitcom Rodney. He played the role of Charlie, the crazy sister-in-law of the lead’s (Rodney Carrington) best friend Barry Martin (Nick Searcy). The series lasted for two seasons, and was cancelled midway through the second, in 2006. Her next television role was for another sitcom, the short-lived Aliens in America, where she played the role of Franny Tolchuk, the wife of Gary (Scott Patterson), who’s bent on making her outsider son Gary (Dan Byrd) as popular as his sister Claire (Lindsey Shaw) by signing up for a foreign exchange program.
Pietz also has appeared in several films, including Rudy, Jingle All the Way, Jell-Ohh Lady, Marty and Sven, The Whole Ten Yards and DysEnchanted. She also played guest roles in television shows such as Conrad Bloom, Ally McBeal, The Drew Carey Show, CSI, The Division and I’m With Her. In 2011, she was cast in the ABC Family series The Nine Lives of Chloe King. She also has an extensive stage career, appearing in several productions in Los Angeles, Chicago and Broadway. She also originated the role of Martha Boswell in the musical The Boswell Sisters in San Diego, California.

– She married Kenneth Alan Williams in 1997 but they eventually divorced.
