Ever wondered what it’s like to live the life of a luxury real estate broker in New York City? Bravo has you covered. “Million Dollar Listing New York” follows five of NYC’s best real estate agents as they take you through selling properties in the big city. From listing properties to open houses to final sales, fans get to see where the wealthy call home.
This Emmy-nominated show is a spin-off of Bravo’s popular “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.” But instead of focusing on selling mansions in LA, this series takes fans inside the penthouses of Manhattan. It follows a unique cast of big-selling real estate agents that come from all corners of the world. While viewers always love seeing the glamorous side of New York, it’s the cast that keeps fans coming back.
Who Are the Realtors on “Million Dollar Listing New York?”
The cast of “Million Dollar Listing New York” has changed over the years. But it all started back in 2012 with three NYC brokers. Ryan Serhant, Fredrik Eklund, and Michael Lorder introduced fans to the world of NYC real estate. But, after season one, only Ryan and Fredrik stayed with the show, opening the door for new brokers to join their ranks.
As of season nine, there are five brokers who star on the show. But, that number is likely to change again in future seasons. While there haven’t been any new cast announcements for season 10, Fredrik will not be returning. For new fans of the show, here are the current and former cast members of “Million Dollar Listing New York.”
Current Cast Members
Ryan Serhant
When Bravo decided to bring reality TV to the New York City real estate market, Ryan Serhant was there to welcome them. As one of the founding cast members of the show, Serhant has been selling property in NYC since 2008.
Then in 2012, he launched his own bi-coastal brokerage team called the Serhant Team. He was also listed in the top 15 most successful real estate agents in New York.
Since then, Serhant’s success has only grown. He has written books, as well as produced and starred in Bravo’s “Sell it Like Serhant.”
In 2014, he proposed to his girlfriend, lawyer Emilia Bechrakis. Bravo featured their beautiful Greek wedding in a four-part mini-series, “Million Dollar Listing New York: Ryan’s Wedding.” As recent as season nine, Serhant opened his own brokerage firm, SERHANT while New York shut down during the COVID pandemic.
Fredrik Eklund
This Swedish-born New York realtor managed to sell $50 million worth of property when he first moved to the big apple when he was 25.
Since then his team has sold more than $15 billion in residential sales. Fans of MDLNY know Fredrik for his signature high kicks and his addictive energy.
Where some agents will find a location and try to sell it quickly, Eklund vets his properties well. He speaks with architects and designers, to ensure that every property is up to his standards. Selling quickly isn’t his motivation.
Eklund’s client list includes celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, and John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
He is also well-known to the “Real Housewives of New York City” after working with Bethenny Frankel. The two even starred in their own spin-off series Bethenny and Fredrik.
Fredrik is leaving MDLNY for the west coast. After guesting on “Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles,” Fredrik has decided to become a main cast member in LA.
Kristen Jordan
Newcomer Kristen Jordan joined the “Million Dollar Listing New York” team during season nine, making her the first female broker on the show. She picked a heck of a season to join.
Kristen may be new to the show, but she is not new to the New York City real estate market.
Over the last decade, Kristen put together an impressive portfolio of half a billion dollars in property sold. She managed to completely sell-out three new developments in New York for more than $100 million.
Thanks to her connections and fluency in Italian, she specializes in the Italian clients of the city. Kristen also runs a successful blog and has quite a following on social media showcasing that she is more than a real estate broker, but a mother, traveler, and athlete as well.
Steve Gold
Joining the cast of MDLNY during season six, Steve Gold became a fan favorite of the series. He is a broker for The Corcoran Group and focuses on properties in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He has worked on many other properties around the city, including The Residence by Zaha Hadid.
In 2021, Gold managed to sell penthouse 88A at 15 Hudson Yards for more than $29 million, making it the highest record sale for the property. Of course, you don’t break records like that on your own.
Steve recently worked with Real Housewives’ Dorinda Medley to get the word out about his properties. But before Steve started selling properties he was selling designer goods. Gold worked with designers such as Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, and Giorgio Armani as a model. Now he shares his good looks with Bravo fans.
Tyler Whitman
In season eight, Tyler Whitman joined MDLNY. Originally from the South, when he first moved to New York City he had a terrible experience buying a home.
After that, he decided to go into real estate and make a positive impact on others. While many of the other cast members are currently at the top of their game, Tyler is still climbing the ladder in NYC.
He currently works for a start-up firm called Triplemint. While sticking to his initial promise to improve the buying experience, he isn’t afraid of a little competition. Tyler teams up with some unlikely partners to help get his sales, especially when battling against the other agents.
Former Cast Members
Luis D. Ortiz
Joining MDLNY for season two, Luis D. Ortiz stayed on the show until season five. Ortiz used to work for the brokerage firm Douglass Elliman, the same company that hired Fredrik Eklund at the time.
During season two of “Million Dollar Listing New York,” Ortiz got into trouble with the New York Department of State when he was under investigation after sending fake photos to brokers about one of his listings.
Originally from Puerto Rico, he left his home to attend school for film. Ortiz admits that he treats every property sale like a production, making sure everything is in place.
At the end of season five, Ortiz admitted that he was going to leave real estate and later claimed that it didn’t give him the same rush it used to. Ortiz did come back for season eight of MDLNY after moving back to New York.
In 2021, Luis began co-hosting “The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals” on Netflix.
Michael Lorber
Alongside Ryan Serhant and Fredrik Ekland, Michael Lorber was one of the three brokers that started “Million Dollar Listing New York.” Lorber only stayed on the show for season one.
He is currently the Director of Business Development for Douglas Elliman Worldwide Consulting and works on multimillion-dollar property deals across Manhattan. According to the New York Times, he decided to leave the show after only one season because it did little for his business.
