Winning the third cycle of America’s Next Top Model was just the beginning for Eva Marcille (previously Eva Pigford). Now, she’s all set to start yet another chapter of her life with actor Lance Gross. The two have been together since 2007, and were recently reported to have been engaged.
The joyous occasion occurred in a cozy cabin at the Big Bear ski resort at Big Bear Lake, California. Model and actress Eva Marcille was busy relaxing for the winter season, when she received a holiday surprise. Her beau presented her with a 3.36-carat diamond 1895 Pave Cartier ring, which was meant to be a Christmas Eve gift as well.
Lance Gross gave Marcille this symbol of his promise, in the hopes that they would spend their lifetimes together. His efforts were not in vain, as she accepted and made wedding plans to boot. The couple, wanting to relish their status as an engaged pair, have considered having their marriage ceremony in the summer of 2010.
“I cried. It was totally unexpected. I’m still in shock,” Marcille admitted. “I could not even sleep because I was afraid that I might wake up from the most beautiful dream ever.”
“I’m proud to call Lance mine because I was in love with him before we ever met. He’s my dream guy!” Eva Marcille continued. She has graced a number of magazine covers and runways ever since her victory on America’s Next Top Model. She has also been cast on the daytime drama The Young and the Restless, as well as snagged several guest spots on other TV series.
Meanwhile, her soon-to-be husband is an NAACP Image Award-winning actor, who is best known as Calvin Payne in the TBS sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. “I knew the day I laid eyes on her because I just got that feeling,” he told the press. “She took full control of my heart and is the only woman that has ever made me feel that way – that’s how I knew she was special.”
Other appearances of his include those on The Bernie Mac Show, Eve and a variety of music videos. Some of these are for R&B stars like Mariah Carey, Kelis, Mary J. Blige, and Rihanna.
Eva Marcille has been seen wearing a wide array of couture clothes in her days, but there’s only one dress that matters now – the one for her wedding. Though there’s no word yet on the details of the couple’s plans, it’s doubtless that many designers would vie for the chance to glam up this Top Model.
