And the guest stars keep on coming. Chuck, on this, its second season, has already welcomed guest stars such as Michael Strahan, John Larroquette, Melinda Clarke, Ben Savage, and Nicole Richie. Beginning next Monday, when Chuck returns with a new episode (“Chuck vs. The Ex), Jordana Brewster will join the series for a three-episode run as Chuck’s ex-lady friend. Now, thanks to E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos, we know who the newest Chuck guest stars will be: Jenny McCarthy and Andy Richter. That duo will appear in the fourteenth episode of season two. The episode is called “Chuck vs. the Suburbs” and will air either in late February or early March.
Chuck and its writers really know how to utilize their guest actors. Never has it seemed forced, and they’ve generally brought something to the table without becoming a distraction. In “Chuck vs. the Suburbs,” it sounds like there is going to be a bad guy Fulcrum agent living somewhere in the suburbs. The agent will either be Richter or McCarthy, with the other playing the spouse. Word is that Chuck and Sarah will have to head to the suburbs and pose as a married couple while investigating the agent. Sounds like fun, which is usually what Chuck is.
Now, I like both Jenny McCarthy and Andy Richter. Richter is the more highly-regarded comic presence, as he should be, and it’s a damn shame that none of his TV projects gained the popularity they deserved. Andy Richter Controls the Universe was an especially good show. Jenny McCarthy, on the other hand, has gone from Playboy model to co-host of Singled Out (a very enjoyable show for a middle-schooler to watch back in the day, trust me) to willing comedic actress to beau of Jim Carrey. She’s a balls-out actress who often garners mixed results. However, I could see her playing off of Richter quite well.
