The series finale of Gossip Girl might be a homecoming for two of its original stars who have since moved on. The CW drama is currently filming its series finale in New York, and on Tuesday, star Kelly Rutherford tweeted a photo that might spoil a big surprise.
Rutherford tweeted “My kids are grown up” to accompany a photo of Connor Paolo and Taylor Momsen who played Eric van der Woodsen and Jenny Humphrey. The CW has no confirmed whether the two will be appearing in the finale, but it seems like a safe bet.
Paolo and Momsen last appeared in the season 4 finale, and since they are two of the stars who were there from the very beginning, it would only be appropriate if both returned for the series finale.
Since leaving the show, Paolo has been starring on ABC’s Revenge while Momsen’s latest appearance was in the buff in a spoken word video for her band, The Pretty Reckless.
On Gossip Girl, Eric and Jenny moved to London at the end of season 4 to attend Saint Martins, a college.
If Paolo and Momsen return for the series finale of Gossip Girl, they won’t be the only ones. It was previously reported that Katie Cassidy will come back as Juliet Sharp.
Gossip Girl‘s finale season airs Mondays at 9pm on the CW.
