Arrow season 1 continues on Wednesday March 20 with a run of new episodes after taking a mini hiatus for a couple of weeks. At last week’s Paleyfest event, BuddyTV got the chance to speak to the show’s executive producers, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, about what fans can expect now that the show is back.
Check out our exclusive interview with Andrew Kreisberg below.
Here are a few highlights from the interview:
- There will apparently be lots of arrows in upcoming episodes.
- The Huntress returns in episode 17.
- A new villain, called The Savior will be appearing in episode 18.
- Alex Kingston will return as Laurel’s mom, as will Seth Gable as The Count.
- The writers have already started on the season finale, which promises to be epic and even bigger than the pilot or any other episode they have done so far this season.
- Because of the early pickup for season 2, they were able to start setting up things in the final seven episodes of season 1 to carry over into season 2.
- Kreisberg compares Arrow to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and talked about how letting Tommy in on Oliver’s secret will affect both characters.
Next up, check out our exclusive interview with Marc Guggenheim below.
Here are a few highlights from the interview:
- Mysteries that have been building up all season will begin to pay off in episode 18, even tying up things that began as far back as episode 2.
- The last seven episodes of the season will continue to build upon each other, gathering up for a roller coaster ride as we go towards the season finale.
- Guggenheim discusses the idea of the flashbacks and how they will continue to be a vital part of the show until the very end of the series.
- The flashback stories and how they tie into the series is based on a five-year plan and if the show goes more than five seasons, they may have to adjust the plan in the future.
- Guggenheim has something to say for fans who think that Tommy being let in on the secret may have happened too soon. He also says that the number of people who know the secret will fluctuate.
- Tommy’s reaction to finding out Oliver’s secret is going to be very different from Diggle and Felicity’s reactions.
