The Arrow cast is getting even bigger for its second season. THR is reporting that former Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes has been promoted to a series regular for the show’s second season.
Haynes plays Roy Harper, a young criminal from the Glades who had a run-in with Oliver Queen’s sister Thea in the 15th episode, “Dodger.” Haynes will continue to appear as a recurring character in the remaining episodes of Arrow’s first season. Fans of the comic books know that Harper is destined to become Speedy, the Green Arrow’s sidekick.
The promotion certainly suggests that, sooner or later, Harper will join the growing number of characters who learn Oliver’s secret identity. It’s likely that he will also continue to serve as a potential love interest for Thea.
Haynes is not the first Arrow guest star to get a promotion for season 2. It was previously announced that Emily Bett Rickards, who plays tech whiz Felicity Smoak, will also become a series regular for the second season.
This is Haynes’ first role since leaving MTV’s Teen Wolf at the end of its second season.
