Get your tissues ready, everyone. The hottest and most ab-perfect superhero on television, Stephen Amell of Arrow, is no longer single. The man who plays Oliver Queen got married to his girlfriend Cassandra Jean in a secret ceremony on Christmas Day.
According to a report from Just Jared, Amell and Jean married in the Caribbean on December 25. The couple had been on a vacation there, and the private, sunset ceremony was officiated by a friend of the couple.
The secret wedding shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, considering the privacy with which Stephen Amell has surrounded his life. Even as the man has graced a thousand billboards to become a full-blown heartthrob, details about his personal life have remained minimal.
Arrow has turned out to be one of the big hits of the fall 2012 television season and is one of The CW’s most successful new programs in years. The show is inspired by the “Green Arrow” comic books and follows the adventures of Oliver Queen (Amell). After being saved from years marooned on a mysterious island, Oliver comes back a changed man and a vigilante dedicated to wiping out evil in his hometown of Starling City.
The show has also been a true star-making vehicle for Amell, previously known mostly for smaller roles in TV shows like Private Practice, Hung and The Vampire Diaries. The actor is very much the central character in Arrow, performing drama and some rather impressive stunts.
While the show has been on hiatus for several weeks, it will return with new episodes on Wednesday, January 16 at 8pm.
