Last year, Brad Womack stunned America on ABC’s The Bachelor, when he decided not to choose DeAnna Pappas or Jenni Croft at the final rose ceremony. Womack said that he came to the show to find true love and to find someone to share his life with. Yet, when it came time to get down on one knee and pop the question, Brad got cold feet. He was supposed to choose DeAnna and even flew her father out for the occasion. Instead, he left her heartbroken and confused. Since then, Brad has tried to maintain a low profile but the women he hurt the new star of The Bachelorette, it’s more difficult than hoped.
It was rumored that while filming The Bachelor, Womack was still not over his ex-girlfriend, Laurel Kagay, who is from his home state of Texas. It was even (falsely) rumored that the two were going to have a baby together. Laurel’s friend’s father, Rob Balon, spoke exclusively to BuddyTV last October, when the story first broke. He claims that Laurel and Brad texted the entire time that he filmed The Bachelor. The women who participated that season said that they were cut off from friends and family and ABC vehemently denied that Brad and Laurel were in touch.
DeAnna Pappas is currently the new Bachelorette and, at the start of each episode, ABC showed Brad dumping DeAnna, DeAnna breaking down on “After The Final Rose”, and DeAnna getting over him, which was one of the hardest things she’s ever had to do. Brad has been portrayed in the media as a jerk and has been called almost every name in the book. If he is dating Laurel, or anyone for that matter, they are never seen publicly and the media has yet to report on anything new in his personal life since his stint on reality television.
