The American Film Institute really likes Battlestar Galactica. For the second year in a row the little cable show that could has gotten props from the AFI as one of the best shows on television. Inclusion in the AFI list is considered a huge badge of honor in the industry as the selections are made through a debate among a forum of thirteen selected jurors considered to be scholars, film artists, critics or AFI trustees. The jury then meets for two days in Los Angeles to discuss who will make the cut.
In addition to Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, 24, Dexter, Friday Night Lights, South Park, The Office, West Wing, and The Wire made the cut. Battlestar Galactica and 24 were the only shows to repeat from 2005.
