Just how exactly are vampires made? While we’re not entirely certain about the Bram Stoker-y origins of such creatures of the night, HBO has released what could be the closest answer to that question. The network launched a behind-the-scenes look at how True Blood‘s second season was created, along with a few hints of what’s up this June.
To whet your appetite for the upcoming sophomore installment of their acclaimed vampire drama, below is a sneak peek of True Blood in the making. There are interviews with the cast and creators, along with several unaired scenes from the show.
“True Blood is a parallel universe,” actor Bill Compton says. Every other cast member echoes his sentiments, saying that the series is a hodgepodge of genres that the public will enjoy. What’s exciting this season is that the bar is raised higher as even more expectations are met, while still staying true to the story.
“It’s going in a bunch of different directions this season,” added Alexander Skarsgard with a smile. The series has been met with much success, and fans just can’t help but crave more True Blood.
What’s really exciting on the upcoming installment of the show is the introduction of a new bunch of characters. The interactions between them and those we’re already familiar with will be a thrill to see, especially with the addition of Evan Rachel Wood as a Louisiana vampire queen.
There’s also the development of our favorite True Blood characters, such as Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) getting more mature and Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) dealing with his tortured past.
We can all count the days to the premiere of the series’ second season, but until then, here’s another promotional trailer for True Blood.
Don’t forget to catch the romance and suspense once True Blood returns this June 14 on HBO.
