10 New TV Shows to Watch in October 2022

From the many interesting TV shows — new and returning — lined up for October 2022, we have taken the pain to select the top 10 most interesting ones for you. From Netflix to HBO Max, Apple TV, Disney Plus, and Amazon Prime, here are 10 interesting shows to look out for in October.

“Inside Amy Schumer”

After a six-year break, “Inside Amy Schumer” returns for another season — the fifth season. This will be a short installment of just five episodes and might perhaps be the last. Schumer recently joked on her Instagram handle that she intends to use the upcoming season “to burn any remaining bridges.” The note further read, “Inside Amy Schumer” is returning for another season, and it’s better than ever. Well, not as good as season 3. But close.”

The comedy sketch series will return on October 20 on Paramount Plus and will air two episodes. The remaining three episodes will follow weekly.

“The White Lotus”

Multiple Emmy-award winning series “The White Lotus” returns for a second season on October 30, 2023. Show creator Mike White is set to take fans on another thrilling adventure at the White Lotus hotel — this time around, the location would be Sicily, Italy. Catch the premiere live on HBO Max, at 9 p.m. ET.

“Guillermo del Toro’s The Cabinet of Curiosities”

“Guillermo del Toro’s The Cabinet of Curiosities” is for lovers of horror fiction like “Monsterland” or “Kindred Spirits.” The first season will have eight episodes, each telling a different anthology story as narrated by Del Toro. The anthology series will make its debut on October 25 on Netflix with two episodes dropping that day. Subsequently, two more episodes will drop each day until October 28 when everything will be available.

“Rosaline”

“Rosaline” is a spin on the popular tale of Romeo and Juliet. This time, the story is told around Juliet’s cousin, Rosaline — portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever — whom Romeo (Kyle Allen) first loved before he fell in love with Juliet (Isabela Merced). Feeling jilted and heartbroken, Rosaline is determined to destroy Romeo’s love affair with Juliet and she will stop at nothing to accomplish her mission. There is no telling whether this will live up to the reputation of the popular Shakespearean tragic tale but it would be nice to see their love story told from another angle.

The romantic comedy makes its debut on October 14, 2022. You can stream the premiere live on Hulu.

“The Winchesters” (The CW)

After running for 15 seasons, “Supernatural” finally gets a spin-off in “The Winchesters.” And while “Supernatural” focused on Sam and Dean’s adventure, “The Winchester ” focuses on how their parents John Winchester (Drake Rodger) and demon hunter Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) met each other in the ’70s. On a mission to unravel the mystery behind her father’s disappearance, Mary meets John who had just returned from a war in Vietnam and was equally seeking answers about his father’s past. The two join forces as they seek to unravel the truth about their families.

“The Winchesters” is set to premiere on The CW on October 11, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will be available to stream on The CW app on October 12.

“The Watcher”

Ryan Murphy is making the headlines again much like he did with “American Crime Story.” The creator teams up with Ian Brennan in this upcoming Netflix original which is written based on Reeves Wiedeman’s “The Haunting of a Dream House.”

Much like the original 2014 story where Derek and Maria Broaddus were chased out of their home, “The Watcher” is about a couple, Nora (Naomi Watts) and Dean Brannock (Bobby Carnevale). Soon after the couple moved into their estate at 657 Boulevard, they began to get horrifying letters from a certain mystery stalker who identifies himself simply as “The Watcher.”

Who exactly is this stalker? We’re about to find out as the series makes its debut on October 13 on Netflix.

“Werewolf by Night”

If you’ve seen “Doctor Strange” then you know what the Marvel Cinematic Universe is capable of — although this isn’t a show. Directed by Michael Giacchino, this upcoming black-and-white special is about giving monsters some more humanity. The main character Jack Russell (Gael Garcia Bernal) becomes a werewolf but still retains the ability to think like a human. Scheduled for a 53 minutes running time, “Werewolf by Night” makes its debut on October 7 on Disney Plus

“Pennyworth” Season 3

“Batman” adaptation “Pennyworth” returns for a third season with the title “Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler.” The events in “Pennyworth” happened years before the Gotham show and is about how Alfred Pennyworth and Batman’s father Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge) worked together to take down a deadly group in the city. The first two seasons aired on Epix, however the upcoming season will be on HBO Max. You can also catch the previous seasons on HBO Max.

“The Simpsons” Season 33

Long-running American animated TV series “The Simpsons” returns for its thirty-third season. The series made its debut on Fox back in 1989. The show which has won 35 Emmy awards chronicles the titular Simpson family —  Marge, Homer, Lisa, Bart and Maggie — as they become embroiled in an endless chain of roguery.

The new season premieres on Disney Plus on October 5.
