It’s all over until the finale. Big Brother 14 has held its last competition of the season, not including the third part of the final HoH which will air live during the finale. Inside the house it’s now four days of waiting.
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 14 spoilers.
Dan won part 1 of the final HoH competition on Thursday.
Ian won part 2.
As soon as the feeds came back, Danielle was throwing a massive hissyfit about how, if Ian wins and takes Dan to the end, she will taint the entire jury against Ian and convince everyone to vote for Dan. She claims she can convince Shane and Ashley not to vote for Ian. She’s mad at Ian for turning into Dan, still acting like she doesn’t ALSO have a deal with Dan.
But this is all an act dreamed up by Dan and Danielle to threaten and bully Ian into throwing the final HoH competition to Dan so that Ian doesn’t cut Danielle and earn her wrath. The plan also involves Dan continuing to say he’d bring Ian to the end, which he wouldn’t. This might work on Shane, but Ian isn’t a moron and he’s telling Dan that he will NOT throw the final competition. Dan seems to think otherwise.
Now it all comes down to the last HoH competition, which is typically a simple six question quiz held during the live show where the HGs are asked questions about exit interviews from the six members of the jury.
There are only four possible ways this game could end, so let’s look at them.
Dan Wins and Takes Ian to the Finale: This won’t happen so I won’t even bother writing about it.
Dan Wins and Takes Danielle: This has been Dan’s dream all along. He wants to win at the end and take his former player because he knows it will make everyone in the jury think that his coaching and gameplay are what dragged Danielle to the end, thus ensuring that they will vote for him to win. It’s safe to assume that Shane will NEVER vote for Dan. I have faith Britney and Ian would both respect the game enough to give the win to Dan. Assuming Frank has had enough time to calm down (and assuming he will start to appreciate Dan’s backstabbing once he sees what happened to Shane), he and Ashley could easily go for Dan. It helps that Frank views Danielle as a pathetic, Bachelor contestant wannabe and doesn’t respect her at all as a player. Jenn and Joe are wildcards, as they have been all along, but I think Dan’s final speech to the jury would provide enough Mist to get him the win. I also think Britney in the jury house is the key to Dan’s success because she will be pushing hard for a serious game player to win, and that’s not Danielle.
Ian Wins and Takes Dan: If Ian wins the last competition he will have four HoH wins and two PoV wins. That, combined with forming the Quack Pack and betraying Boogie, should easily get him a win over Dan, especially since everyone hates Dan. Shane wouldn’t vote for Dan and Britney would go for Ian since she likes him. I think no one in the jury WANTS to give Dan the money, and with six wins and a huge alliance under his belt, Ian is worthy enough to allow them not to let Dan win. Sure, Danielle is bitching and moaning about how she’ll turn everyone against Ian if he does this, but that’s exactly what Adam said last season when he voted against Rachel because she didn’t take him, and that didn’t hurt her one bit.
Ian Wins and Takes Danielle: This would be an unlikely and possibly dangerous move. Shane and Dan would probably vote for Danielle (Shane for love and Dan for personal glory so he can say he coached the winner). I could see the sympathy factor being strong with Danielle, but I’m not sure that would be strong enough to sway the rest of the jury. As I said, Frank doesn’t respect Danielle, and if Ian evicts Dan at the end, that will make Frank and others VERY happy.
It’s hard to predict what will happen in the finale because it depends on the jury’s state of mind. Will they understand that it’s a game or will they punish someone they hate? Will they reward an undeserving winner out of spite for everyone else, or sympathy for the tough emotional stress she’s been under?
I’m obviously of the belief that both Dan and Ian have played superior games to that of Danielle, so I should hope that whichever guy wins the last HoH will win the game.
UPDATE: On the live feeds Dan is now talking to himself, saying that he thinks his best move is to throw the final part to Ian and let him win and evict Danielle. He thinks he can NOT win against Danielle, but he can win against Ian, and that his conscience (yes, he has one, as he says) wouldn’t allow him to evict Danielle if he wins. Clearly he’s getting a little too cocky, because I’m not sure he could beat Ian, but I think he can beat Danielle, even though both Dan and Ian have convinced themselves that Danielle will win if she makes the finale.
Who are you rooting for to win the final HoH competition and who do you think will win Big Brother 14?
