For the second week in a row on Big Brother 15, America is the MVP and gets to vote for the third nominee. Last week Julie Chen told us Aaryn got the most votes, followed by Elissa and GinaMarie. Since Aaryn is HoH, does that mean the same outcome as last time?
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 15 spoilers.
Aaryn nominated Howard and Spencer.
Amanda is the third nominee!
Jessie and Candice were also chosen to play for the Power of Veto. Well, this means five of the six people playing haven’t won a competition this season.
Congratulations, Brenchel Army. After Elissa was nominated last week, Rachel Reilly and her fans were far more coordinated this time around, quickly deciding to put all of their support behind nominating Amanda. And clearly it worked. At this point, I think maybe Rachel should win Big Brother 15 since clearly she’s playing a more important role than many people inside the house.
While Amanda has been mentioned as a potential target, I don’t think it will change the landscape of the game. The people who want her gone (Helen, Elissa, Jessie, Candice) are more likely going to try to make that big move later in the game. So it’s still bad news for Howard or Spencer.
Also, if you were hoping for fireworks, it doesn’t look like we’ll get any quite yet because Amanda knows she has the numbers to stay no matter what. But hopefully being nominated and being a Have-Not will cause her to have a meltdown sometime this week.
Candice playing makes it a little more interesting. If she wins the Power of Veto and saves Howard, then Aaryn would probably have to put up Elissa. I suspect Spencer would still go home in that scenario, but Amanda and Elissa could make people think twice.
The Power of Veto is going to be fiercely contested, but with such a weak roster of competitors, anything could happen. But realistically, unless Howard or Candice win it, then Howard is almost certainly going to be evicted.
It’s also worth pointing out that, last week, Elissa won the Power of Veto by making a “punishment” of not being able to play in this week’s PoV competition. Since she’s not even nominated, it’s kind of like there is no punishment.
Amanda’s nomination is making everyone believe that Howard is definitely the MVP. I can’t decide if they actually believe this or if some people just say it to make him more of a target (America as the MVP is still a popular theory too). This has been happening a lot this season, people making up totally bogus claims just to convince everyone how to vote.
Helen and Elissa did it with Nick (claiming he was Dan Gheesling’s cousin) and now people are doing it again, saying Howard is MVP, has the Coup d’Etat and is the brother of Danielle Reyes from Big Brother 3. That last one is so obscure I don’t know how anyone could believe it. I’m sure next week everyone will be convinced that Spencer is Chicken George’s nephew. It’s sad that this type of smear campaign seems to be working, but I guess that’s what political consultant Helen knows best.
FUN FACTS: Andy remains the only HG who has never played in a Power of Veto competition. Candice is now the only HG this season who has been randomly selected twice to play for Veto.
The Power of Veto competition will be held Saturday afternoon, so come back for the results.
