Big Brother 16 won’t begin with one episode, but two. CBS announced that the special “Move-In Event” will span two nights, with the premiere on Wednesday, June 25 at 8pm and the second part on Thursday, June 26 at 9pm. The special premiere will be supported by a ton of additional content online.
Besides the two-night premiere on CBS (broadcast in HD for the first time ever), former HG Jeff Schroeder will host a live pre-show online and he will live tweet the first 16 hours of live feeds starting Thursday night.
The kickoff pre-show will stream on CBS.com Wednesday, June 25 starting at 7pm ET. He will offer commentary and insight on the new HGs and the new twists in store.
The live feeds won’t start this year until after the second night of the premiere, Thursday, June 26 at 1am ET (10pm PT). It will start with a live tweeting marathon by Schroeder, who will chronicle the first 16 hours of action.
Big Brother: After Dark will return to TVGN this summer, also in HD, with two or three hour installments. Here’s the breakdown for the Big Brother: After Dark schedule on TVGN:
Mondays and Tuesdays: 11pm-2am ET
Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: Midnight-2am ET
Thursdays: 1am-3am ET
Besides all of those ways to enjoy the show, the Photo Booth will be back in the house this year and Schroeder will continue to do live web shows Fridays at 3pm ET (12pm PT) where he takes questions and interviews evicted HGs.
The two-night move-in event could offer some indication about the twist. When the British version of Big Brother does a two-night “live launch,” it means some HGs move in on the first day and get to stay there for 24 hours before more HGs are brought in.
That could happen on Big Brother 16, which could lend credence to the rumor that it will be a Relatives season. Maybe half of them will enter the house the first night, and in the second night, their relatives will join them.
Big Brother 16 premieres Wednesday, June 25 at 8pm, with additional episodes Thursdays at 9pm and Sundays at 8pm on CBS.
