Nicole, James, or Paul will be the winner of Big Brother 18. The two returning players and one newbie made it to the Final 3 where the three-part final HoH competition will decide which one of them gets to sit in the Final 2 and choose who sits next to them. Following Corey’s eviction in fourth place, the Final 3 began the first part of the final HoH competition, an endurance challenge. The winner moves directly to part 3 on finale night while the other two will battle head-to-head in part 2.

Paul won Part 1 of the Final HoH competition!
The feeds were down for the entire time, so we have no idea what the competition was. However, the feeds were only down for less than 2 and a half hours. Paul and James talked and it sounds like Nicole did really well at the start while the boys struggled, but then she messed up on something and Paul knew she was done. It involved ropes and Nicole and James started swinging, which hurt them.
Now James and Nicole will have to battle it out in part 2 to decide who will face off against Paul in the live part 3 on finale night. The second part is usually more mental, so the edge has to go to Nicole.
At this point, there’s still some questions about who each of them would take to the end. Nicole seems firmly committed to taking James to the end while James seems to want to take Paul (before Corey was evicted, James said that to the cameras). Paul has been playing both sides, so it’s a real mystery if he would take James or Nicole.
This caps off an amazing three days for Paul. He won the Final 4 HoH competition on Monday, then he won the Final 4 Power of Veto on Tuesday, now part 1 of the Final HoH on Wednesday. Three wins in three days definitely gives him momentum, making him a big threat.
FUN FACTS
-If you count each part of the Final HoH as a separate competition, Paul is only the 14th HG to win three HoH and PoV competitions in a row.
-In the 16 previous seasons with a three-part final HoH, the winner of part 1 went on to win the whole game only 5 times: season 3’s Lisa, season 5’s Drew, season 10’s Dan, season 12’s Hayden, and season 13’s Rachel.
-The winner of part 1 has finished the game in second place 8 times. There have only been 3 times when the winner of part 1 got evicted in third place: season 8’s Zach, season 11’s Kevin, and last year’s Vanessa.
-In 10 out of 16 seasons, the winner of part 1 of the final HoH also went on to win part 3.
