The Big Brother 19 cast is here and 16 brand-new houseguests will be entering the house this summer for a shot at $500,000. Before the action begins, we’re breaking down each of the contestants to analyze their strengths and weaknesses.
First Impressions of the BB19 Cast>>>
This is Kevin Schlehuber, a 55-year-old stay at home dad from Boston, Massachusetts.
His Backstory
He’s been married for 31 years and has seven kids, six of whom are daughters. His daughters are huge fans of the show and convinced him to apply. He seems athletic and very talkative, a real family man who will do anything for his family. Back in the ’80s he was a dunk champion, won a Mr. Massachusetts competitions and appeared on Geraldo’s talk show where he won a hunk contest.
His Strategy
Though his daughters may be big fans, Kevin doesn’t seem to know too much about the game and his strategy is basically just to be himself and hope that’s enough.
Other Fun Facts
He’s the third-oldest HG in the show’s history, behind season 10’s Jerry and season 4’s Jack. He also regularly appears in his daughter’s YouTube videos about KPOP (Korean pop music), like this one where the girls think it will be funny to repeatedly shock Kevin. He’s pretty entertaining, although even his own daughter has to tell him to “Shut the f*** up” because he keeps rambling on.
His Chances
The older people never have a chance to win the game. In recent seasons being the oldest man is an instant death sentence because they can’t relate to the younger cast (see Glenn and Cornbread). However, if he can be perceived as harmless and amusing instead of annoying, he could go a long time like a Donny or, from earlier seasons, Jack and Gerry.
Big Brother 19 premieres Wednesday, June 28 at 8/7c on CBS.
