Booth and Brennan are about to enter uncharted and supernatural territories this Fall When they get themselves involved in the ghost story of Sleepy Hollow. The FOX crossover event was originally slated to debut later along in the season, but according to TVLine, they have moved the event up to a much earlier date.
The in-the-works project will premiere on Thursday, October 29. A fitting date, as it’s so close to Halloween. The storyline for the episode has not yet been revealed, so it may actually have nothing to do with Halloween. However, our minds are spinning at just how the worlds of Ichabod Crane and Seeley Booth will be able to collide for two hours.
Of course crossovers on a network are not a new concept (Chicago Fire/Chicago PD, NCIS/CSI, etc.), but crossing over a sci-fi series with a procedural drama definitely is. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Will the Bones universe be aware of supernatural phenomenon in the episodes after this event, or will it be like The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror where the events of the episode are standalone and take place outside of the series’ normal universe? Only time will tell.
Bones and Sleepy Hollow both return on Thursday, October 1 on FOX.
