It’s been some time since Cam (Tamara Taylor) navigated the murky waters of the dating scene but it looks like it won’t be long before we see her with another man again. According to Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello, Elon Gold has been cast on Bones as Cam’s new love interest.
Gold, whose credits include Stacked, In-Laws and The Next Best Thing, will play a character named Paul Lidner. Though not much has been revealed about the role, executive producer Stephen Nathan reveals that Cam will meet her mystery man “in a very bizarre way.” It also looks like Cam and Paul’s affair will set hurdles for Cam’s relationship with her adopted daughter, Michelle.
Cam and Paul, who is set to make his Bones debut in April, are just one of the marriage candidate couples executive producer Hart Hanson has hinted on recently. The highly anticipated wedding has been a hot topic among fans of Bones, spawning several predictions as to which couple is walking down the aisle.

Meanwhile, Cam isn’t the only one getting a new love interest this season. As reported previously, Rena Sofer is also joining the cast of Bones as Booth’s love interest. She’ll play a marine biologist who crosses Booth’s path when she’s called into the Jeffersonian for a mystery case involving a dead tiger shark.
Just like Gold, there is no word yet on the number of episodes Sofer is slated to appear on but there’s a big chance that she could become a recurring character.
