Earlier today, Bravo announced a plethora of new shows it has in the works (17, to be exact). But most importantly for Real Housewives fans, the following shows have been given the green light: The Real Housewives of Miami season 3, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 4, The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 6, The Real Housewives of New York City Season 6.
In addition, Real Housewives of New Jersey season 5 has a premiere date of Sunday, June 2.
Despite some of the crazy casting rumors, including that Danielle Staub would be returning or well-known pot-stirrer Kim DePaola would be made into a full-time housewife, it looks like the cast is staying exactly the same as it was in season 4. That doesn’t mean that neither one of the aforementioned won’t be making any cameos though. Fingers crossed for more outside drama and less family drama.
So the cast remains the same, made up of sisters-in-law Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita as well as other sisters-in-law Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. Rounding out the cast is Teresa’s cousin Kathy Wakile. The group left things on a sour note on one of the most volatile reunions ever where it was basically everyone versus Teresa. That is part of the reason why there were a lot of rumors about casting an ally for Teresa for this season.
Bravo has yet to release a video sneak peek about the upcoming season, but they did release some details of what we can expect. And hopefully, it won’t be as dark and stressful as the last two seasons.
The Bravo description reads that after suffering through the effects of Hurricane Sandy, the women feel a sense of “communal rebuilding” to mend their fractured relationships from the past. They even hint at a possibility of Teresa and Melissa mending fences for the sake of their families once and for all (we’ll believe it when we see it). But Jacqueline is less forgiving and still holds on to anger against Teresa. The season will also detail Jacqueline’s struggles with her son’s autism diagnosis.
