Smallville finally has its Zod, and it’s British actor Callum Blue. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Blue, who played Mason on the fantastic series Dead Like Me, will take on the much-anticipated role of General Zod as a series regular for Smallville season 9. He will first appear in the season premiere September 25.
As a big Dead Like Me fan, this news is very interesting. But for purely selfish reasons, I’m a bit teed off Smallville didn’t use any of my equally great 21 casting suggestions.
Zod will definitely stir up trouble for Clark and the rest of Smallville in season 9. Blue is a very interesting choice, because he doesn’t quite fit the conventional mold of the show. He’s British, he’s not exactly a former male model like the rest of the cast, and he’s capable of very dark comedy.
