There’s quite a lot of casting news tonight, so let’s get on with it. We’re talking about a couple guys coming to True Blood, three musicians on Hot in Cleveland, and more!
Summer comes to Seattle Grace: Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes made a Twitter announcement saying Summer Glau will be appearing in an upcoming episode. TV Line reports that there aren’t any details about her character yet, so we’ll just wait and see.
A wedding and reunion on Hot in Cleveland?: According to People, a surprise engagement is coming to the show. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played Wendie’s daughter Emmy, will be returning to reprise her role. But with one change: she’s coming as the fiancee of Melanie’s son Will, played by Joe Jonas. Of course it’s an understatement to say their moms are a little distressed by the news.
They might cheer up once Kristin Chenoweth comes for a visit though. TV Guide reports that she’ll be playing a friend of the girls in an episode airing in May. She stays with the Hot in Cleveland ladies after breaking up with her dermatologist boyfriend and they try to get them back together.
Two for True Blood: Deadline reports that a Twilight actor is heading to the HBO series. And no, it’s not Robert Pattinson. It’s Christopher Heyerdahl, who played an ancient Volturi vampire in the saga and will be playing another ancient vampire on the show. He’s been cast as Dieter Braun, a powerful bloodsucker working with the Authority.
Meanwhile, they’ve also recast the character of Claude. In season 5, we get to meet actor Gilles Matthey. He’ll be taking over the role of Sookie’s fairy cousin, which was played by Neil Hopkins last season. What’s more, TV Guide has revealed that he might be in for a multi-episode arc.
Parks and Recreation and Sean Hayes: Will and Grace star Sean Hayes is headed to Pawnee, playing a TV journalist that the locals know and love. TV Line says he interviews Leslie for her campaign and it’s likely that it won’t go well. No surprise there; we all know her track record for interviews.
Judge McGraw on Fairly Legal: TV Guide has confirmed that Mad Men actress Melinda McGraw has been cast as Victoria Connors on an episode of the USA Network series. Her character’s a free-spirited judge who’s new to the San Francisco Supreme Courts.
Dexter Killer meets The Good Wife: Christian Camargo may have retired as the Ice Truck Killer, but he’s still in trouble with the law. We mean he’s been cast as a suspect in The Good Wife. According to TV Line, he’ll be playing “a filmmaker whose documentary on suicide allegedly inspired a young girl to take her own life.” Catch him on this season of the show, unless you’d need Dexter to do that.
The Big C grabs Garber: TV Guide reports that Victor Garber booked a guest stint on the season 3 premiere of the Showtime series. His character is described as a foil for Sean, and will involve harassment and a phone call.
Up All Night gets the Best: Coming up on this NBC sitcom – trouble for Christina Applegate’s character Reagan. TV Guide revealed that she’s about to meet her idol, corporate mogul Yvonne Encanto, portrayed by actress Eve Best. Unfortunately, the lady’s bent on taking over The Ava Show and the two of them clash in an attempt to gain control. Also heading for the series are actors Nat Faxton and Ben Falcone, playing Reagan’s new gay neighbors.
