Violett Beane on The Flash
This may be the season for female superheroes to shine. Violett Beane has signed on for season 2 of The Flash, says TVLine. Beane will play the role of Jesse Quick, a quirky college student who somehow gets involved in the battle between The Flash and Zoom. Fans of the comics will know that Jesse Quick is the alter-ego of Jesse Chambers, who possesses speed just like The Flash. She will appear in multiple episodes throughout the season.
Mia Maestro on Scandal
According to Deadline, The Strain star Mia Maestro has just been picked up by ABC for the fifth season of their hit drama Scandal. Details of her character are still being kept under lock and key.
Zandaya and Tyra Banks on Black-ish
PEOPLE Magazine has reported that the 18-year-old actress and singer has joined the second season of Black-ish. Zendaya will guest star, playing the role of Resheida, a new friend of Zoey’s. Her character doesn’t have a father, which causes her to bond with Dre (Anthony Anderson).
Additionally, America’s Next Top Model‘s Tyra Banks will also join the cast for season 2 of Black-ish. Banks’ character is very similar to who she is in real life, as she’ll play Dre’s friend, based off of her real-life friendship with Anthony Anderson, says TVLine.
Greg Rikaart on Major Crimes
A huge turn of events is heading to the TNT drama Major Crimes. Soap-opera star Greg Rikaart (The Young and the Restless) has joined the cast for for a multiple episode arc that is pivotal to the story, according to TVLine. Rikaart will play the role of Bobby Monroe, a young and confident lawyer who actively fights against the death penalty. He will be defending Slider, the man accused and awaiting trial for the murder of Alice Herrera.
Daisy Betts on The Player
The Chicago Fire actress has just signed on for a recurring role in NBC’s drama The Player. She will play the role of Alex’s (Philip Winchester) ex-wife. Details on her character are still under wraps.
Carlson Young on Grimm
The star of the new MTV series Scream is about to find a new home (temporarily) fighting off Wesen, says TVLine. Carlson Young will appear in the upcoming fifth season of Grimm as Selina Golias, a girl who recently survived an attack that killed her boyfriend. Consequently, she is now the target of a head Wesen. Young is no stranger to guest roles, having appeared in True Blood, Pretty Little Liars and The League.
