Big Brother isn’t going anywhere. Today, as Big Brother 16 prepares to declare a winner, CBS has renewed the reality show for not one but TWO more seasons. Big Brother 17 and Big Brother 18 will air in the summers of 2015 and 2016, with Julie Chen returning as host and Big Brother: After Dark continuing on TVGN (which will soon be renamed POP).
This season, the ratings for Big Brother stayed roughly similar to last summer, with a slight boost in younger viewers. The renewal ensures two more very long summers of nonstop, 24/7 action on the live feeds.
With two more seasons made official, it’s hard not to imagine that at least one of those will be another All-Stars installment, something fans have been clamoring for. The show did its first All-Stars edition in season 7, and since then there have been returning HGs playing the game with newbies in seasons 11, 13 and 14. But after two consecutive seasons with all new HGs, perhaps that means it’s finally time to bring back some of the favorites of recent years to play the game again. I would love this, if only to ensure that Zach Rance appears on my TV again next summer.
Are you excited for two more summers filled with Big Brother action? And how badly do you want season 17 to be another All-Stars?
