Sherlock Holmes and Phil Keoghan are staying on CBS. The network has officially renewed both Elementary and The Amazing Race for the 2017-2018 TV season. In addition, CBS cancelled the freshman sitcom The Great Indoors.
Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucyy Liu, will be back for season 6. It becomes the 11th drama CBS has renewed for next season and the 17th scripted series.
The Amazing Race, a reality competition staple for CBS, will be back for its 30th season.
CBS Cancels 2 Broke Girls>>>
The news isn’t so good for The Great Indoors. Out of the four new comedies from the past season, it’s the only one that failed to get a second season. CBS did renew Kevin Can Wait, Man with a Plan and Superior Donuts.
The Great Indoors is only the third show to be officially cancelled by CBS this season, joining new mid-season drama Doubt and 2 Broke Girls.
These decisions only leave a handful of CBS shows left on the bubble. Freshman dramas Pure Genius, Ransom and Training Day are still in question (though the latter is effectively over since the death of star Bill Paxton). The network also has sophomore dramas Code Black and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, comedy The Odd Couple and reality shows Undercover Boss and Hunted.
CBS will reveal its full 2017-2018 line-up on Wednesday, May 17.
