No, they won’t all be in the same TV projects. But, in the span of mere hours, all three actors have had new roles announced for the upcoming months. In two cases, this means pilots intended for the fall of 2012. In one case, it’s a guest-starring role in a current show. Where might you be seeing John Goodman, Ryan Phillipe and Henry Ian Cusick? Henry Ian Cusick Will Guest-Star on Fringe
Known best for his Lost role as Desmond the time-traveling Scot, Henry Ian Cusick will appear in yet another J.J. Abrams show. According to a report from TVLine, Cusick will appear in episode 19 of Fringe season 4 this spring.
There is little word as to what part Cusick will actually play on Fringe. He is set to be an FBI agent, but — in the Fringe universe(s) — that doesn’t tell us much. Will he be good? Evil? A shape-shifter in disguise?
We may be seeing Henry Ian Cusick in another role even before his Fringe debut. Cusick co-stars in Scandal, a new drama produced by Shonda Rhimes, scheduled to premiere on April 5.
John Goodman Returns to Roseanne
…The actress, not the TV show.
But it might as well be the TV show, considering that John Goodman has just been announced as the co-star in Roseanne Barr’s new multi-camera, blue-collar sitcom pilot, Downwardly Mobile. The pilot, intended for NBC, centers on the weird people who live in a mobile home park managed by Barr. Deadline.com reports that John Goodman will play a buddy of Roseanne’s who works in the same trailer park.
And then they’ll probably hook up at some point, considering how close this is to their earlier hit, Roseanne.
Ryan Phillipe Will Star in a Cop Pilot
Sure, television never really needs another cop show. But a well-cast cop show might be OK.
Ryan Phillipe has been cast in the lead role for a pilot from Nick Wootton and Greg Berlanti. The project, which is currently untitled, focuses on a policeman named Clark who quickly rises through the ranks from an officer to a detective to the police commissioner.
Why? That’s probably what people will watch the show to find out.
Phillipe, known primarily for his many movie roles, will join Kevin Alejandro (True Blood) and Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies) in the show.
