Week 7 has arrived on Dancing with the Stars, and it’s time to add that second dance to each performer’s weekly load. Instead of just giving us that one dance after a week of practicing, each of the pairs will perform in a group dance.
The theme for this week (you didn’t think we could get through a DWTS week without a theme, did you?) is “Ballroom Greats.” While I’m not sure of exactly what this means, I’m going to guess there will be either visitors or homages to reflect on past ballroom greatness.
Not that most viewers will know anything about that. Honestly, they could bring in some guy off the street, say he was the world’s greatest rumba dancer, and I’d never know the difference.
Of course, Dancing with the Stars would never do that. I think.
The big group dances of the week will pit two teams — each made up of three pairs — against each other in an epic cha-cha war (you know, assuming a cha-cha war could ever be “epic”).
One team will consist of:
- Hines and Kym
- Kendra and Louis
- Kirstie and Maks
While the other team will be:
- Chelsea and Mark
- Ralph and Karina
- Romeo and Chelsie
Based on these teams, I’m going to go with the Chelsea-Ralph-Romeo grouping for the win. This is presupposing that the magic of Hines doesn’t just outshine everyone or that Kendra and/or Kirstie doesn’t give one of those surprise, amazing performances.
The scores received by each team will combine with the individual scores in order to determine the overall leaders for the night.
As always, however, the most important part of the night’s performances will be the individual dances. This week, each pair will perform one of the dances they’ve not yet tackled:
- Chelsea and Mark: Paso Doble
- Hines and Kym: Tango
- Kendra and Louis: Tango
- Kirstie and Maks: Jive
- Ralph and Karina: Quickstep
- Romeo and Chelsie: Samba
Will the decreased practice time hurt any of the couples? Which team will take the group dance title? What exactly constitutes “ballroom greatness” on Dancing with the Stars? Let us know what you think below!
