The news just keeps getting worse. TMZ reports that Dancing with the StarsJulianne Hough‘s ailment last week was more than just a stomach ache. She has an ovarian cyst. She will be undergoing surgery minor surgery to remove her appendix, but she will be dancing tonight. (The appendectomy is unrelated to the cyst.)

This two-time Dancing with the Stars champion went to the hospital after last week’s live results show with stomach pains. On her website (JulianneHough.com), she confirms that she has been diagnosed with endometriosis, a common medical condition that causes the development of uterine-lining tissue on surfaces of organs in the pelvis or abdomen where uterine tissue is not supposed to grow. This condition affects five to ten percent of women of reproductive age around the world.

Hough will be dancing with her partner Cody Linley tonight, and will likely announce her course of treatment on tonight’s performance show. E! Online speculates that Cody Linley will be paired with another partner until Julianne feels well enough to continue on the show.

This season of Dancing with the Stars has just been riddled with injuries and other medical conditions. Even before the season began, Toni Braxton was diagnosed with a heart condition called microvascular angina. Jeffrey Ross had a scratched cornea, Misty May-Treanor ruptured her Achilles tendon and Susan Lucci fractured two bones in her foot. Can it get any worse? I sure hope not.

Dancing with the Stars is now down to the top seven couples. Last week, the show introduced four brand new styles to the competition: West coast swing, hustle, jitterbug and salsa. Cody Linley and Julianne Hough danced the jitterbug and received the second highest score from the judges. The only team higher was Brooke Burke and Derek Hough, who also danced the jitterbug.
