Dancing with the Stars is switching up the pairs for week 5 of season 19, and ABC has released the new pairs and the dance styles they will be performing.
In addition, week 5 will feature singer Jessie J. as the guest judge, filling in for the absent Len Goodman. She will also perform on the show.
The new pairs will be taking on some rather unusual styles. Besides classics like the Charleston and the Jitterbug, the stars will take on Broadway, Burlesque, Bollywood, Disco and even Hip-Hop. It’s sure to be an unusual night.
For the Switch-Up, the ladies have swapped partners, with Sadie and Bethany trading for Mark and Derek while Lea and Janel switched Artem and Val. For the men, Alfonso will team up with Cheryl Burke (which should be good for her) while Antonio will get Allison.
Here are the Switch-Up pairs and their dance styles:
Bethany Mota and Mark Ballas: Hip-Hop
Sadie Robertson and Derek Hough: Charleston
Janel Parrish and Artem Chigvintsev: Burlesque
Lea Thompson and Val Chmerkovskiy: Broadway
Jonathan Bennett and Peta Murgatroyd: Jitterbug
Tommy Chong and Emma Slater: Mambo
Michael Waltrip and Witney Carson: Disco
Alfonso Ribeiro and Cheryl Burke: Flamenco
Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Allison Holker: Bollywood
The female star all seem to have made lateral moves as the four male pros remaining are all quite talented. For the men, Jonathan should get a boost having an actual ballroom pro like Peta instead of Allison while Cheryl should enjoy someone as talented as Alfonso.
What do you think of the new pairs and all of the weird and wacky styles they will be performing? The Switch-Up challenge of Dancing with the Stars airs Monday at 8pm on ABC.
