One of the most impressive seasons of Dancing with the Stars is about to come to an end. Katherine Jenkins, Donald Driver and William Levy remain in contention for that Mirror Ball. With just a few more dances before a Dancing with the Stars season 14 champion is chosen, what can we expect from the finale week?
The Standings
While the actual results will, as always be determined by this week’s dances, the overall standings of the three remaining stars might still affect votes.
1. Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas — 328 overall points
2. William Levy and Cheryl Burke — 323 overall points
3. Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd — 317 overall points
Monday Night
The Monday night performance show is only one hour long for the Dancing with the Stars finale week. But we’re still going to see two dances from each of the remaining performers. The first dance of the night will be a previously performed style chosen by the judges. Updates in choreography and music are allowed, so we can expect to see some new moves.
The judges’ choice dances are:
- Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd: Argentine Tango
- William Levy and Cheryl Burke: Cha-Cha
- Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas: Paso Doble
The second dance of the night is the Freestyle. Considering the skill and energy of the remaining Dancing with the Stars season 14 celebrities, who knows what we’ll get?
Other than William Levy’s bare chest, of course. We’ll definitely get that.
Tuesday Night
The Dancing with the Stars season finale will be a two-hour event, running from 9pm to 11pm on Tuesday. With so much time, you know there will be a lot happening.
Competitive Dances
Each of the DWTS season 14 finalists will perform in the “24 Hour Challenge.” They will be given music at the end of Monday night’s show and will have to come up with a routine for Tuesday night. The judges will add the score from this performance to the Monday-night scores and the audience votes in order to determine who gets the Mirror Ball.
Other Dancing
The Tuesday-night finale will open with a big number featuring the entire Dancing with the Stars cast along with the DWTS Troupe. All of the eliminated contestants will return to perform some of their more memorable dance numbers as well.
Musical Diversions
Because it’s the season finale, there have to be some big musical acts on Tuesday night. Dancing with the Stars season 14 contestant Gladys Knight will — for the first time this season — take the microphone for a special musical performance.
The other big musical act is Kelly Clarkson, who will be singing a medley of her songs, “Dark Side” and “Stronger,” accompanied by a performance by some of the DWTS pros.
