Dancing with the Stars season 24 is fast approaching and the rumor mill is swirling as we get closer to the official cast announcement. We previously wrote about Mr. T and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles joining the cast, now Variety is reporting a trio of additional names, including ANOTHER Olympic favorite.
Variety reports that Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, current Bachelor Nick Viall and a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony will be competing on DWTS this season.
Simone Biles Joins DWTS Season 24>>>
Kerrigan, 47, gained her fame at the Winter Olympics in 1992 and 1994 in women’s figure skating, though it is her run-in with Tonya Harding that most people probably remember. DWTS has seen several female figure skater compete, from Kristi Yamaguchi who won to Dorothy Hamill who was eliminated in week 1. Age-wise, Kerrigan is in the middle of those two when they competed on DWTS, so Iit will be interesting.
Bachelor Nick Viall would be the fourth male Bachelor to segue from rose ceremonies to ballroom competition, following Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe and Chris Soules. Bachelors and Bachelorettes are always popular recruits for the show as they have loyal, ABC-watching fans.
Mr. T to Compete on DWTS Season 24>>>
As for the member of Fifth Harmony, People reports that it will be Normani Kordei, though her name alone is hardly recognizablke. It’s similar to when they cast Wanya Morris: You may not know his name, but you know Boyz II Men.
Besides this new trio and the previous two, other rumors include the possibility of a Pretty Little Liars star (most likely Ashley Benson) as well as one of the Property Brothers or a guy from Storage Wars.
The full cast of Dancing with the Stars season 24 will be revealed Wednesday, March 1 on Good Morning America. The competition begins Monday, March 20 at 8/7c on ABC.
