The real competition of Dancing with the Stars begins in week 5. The first three couples to go home boasted the lowest scores and worst dancers. So if there was ever a week where we could get a surprise elimination, this would probably be it.
Six of the nine couples left have received at least one 9 from the judges. Will one of them fall, or will low scores once again dictate who goes?
To properly predict who will go home, it’s important to see what dance styles the couples will be performing as tributes to their most memorable years.
Contemporary: Brant Daugherty and Leah Remini
Foxtrot: Corbin Bleu and Amber Riley
Waltz: Bill Engvall and Jack Osbourne
Cha-Cha-Cha: Christina Milian
Jive: Elizabeth Berkley
Jazz: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi
Based on that information, I’d say Brant and Leah will be rewarded since Contemporary doesn’t involve as much technical training and the Jive, Cha-Cha-Cha and Foxtrots should all be top-notch. Snooki can probably pull off Jazz, but I suspect those two Waltzes are gonna be rough.
Remember, this elimination is based on viewer votes from last week and the scores from this week. Here are my top three predictions for who will go, and keep in mind that I’ve been right every week so far.
Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
They’ve had the lowest scores of everyone left by far, but Bill has also been surprisingly good. He could also get the blue collar vote and was the final performer last week, which may have helped his votes. Still, it seems like only a matter of time until his run is over, and a Waltz is hard to do if you don’t have great technique.
Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
Jack has been consistently average all season long, lacking any real grace and typically winding up in the middle of the pack. That could make him forgettable enough to make a much earlier exit than his sister. The fact that he’s doing a Waltz like Bill makes me think the elimination will be between them.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Sasha Farber
I have this feeling that Snooki won’t last much longer. New pro partners rarely last long, and Sasha seems less personable than most. I’m also not sure if Snooki has much appeal among the typically DWTS voters, and I was largely bored with their cheerleader routine last week. If the scores are tight, Snooki could meet an early exit.
My Prediction
I’m gonna say Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke will be eliminated. Their totally forgettable Cha-Cha-Cha last week probably won’t get them many votes, and Jack’s clumsy technique will become a huge liability with a Waltz, so odds are they will be at the bottom of the leaderboard, if not dead last.
However, part of me hopes the action gets shaken up and we have a huge surprise elimination, I could actually see someone like Christina Milian going home, mostly because no one seems to care that much about her and, without huge gaps in the leaderboard because of Bill Nye and Valerie Harper, the votes will start to matter a lot more. If anyone is gonna be the shocking “too soon” couple to go home, it’s Christina and Mark Ballas.
