Week 5 of Dancing with the Stars has already brought us successes, failures and lots of bad hair. But it’s going to get a whole lot worse than questionable ’80s fashion choices for one star this week. Which dancers will survive? Which will soon be but a faint memory of a bygone era? Tonight we find out!
We will also listen to a bunch of music (from Kelly Clarkson and The Band Perry), survive a few more ’80s-related puns from Tom and see some dancing. It should be busy!
Before we get to any actual results, let’s see how the dancers fared in our predictions. The BuddyTV Readers’ Poll suggests that the most likely pair going home this week is that of Carson and Anna, who received 38 percent of our elimination votes. Not too far behind, in elimination likelihood, are Nancy and Tristan (27 percent of votes) and Chaz and Lacey (19 percent). A few people also think that Hope and Maks or Ricki and Derek might feel the sting of elimination.
Will we be right? Probably not. Will it be fun to find out? Hopefully!

Yay. We get to start off the show with a medley of Madonna songs and some troupe dancing. Also, there’s a choir (for “Like a Prayer”) in robes that match the stairs. They’re actually kind of hard to see.
That was almost exciting. But not quite. Can we have results instead?
Shockingly, Len doesn’t like how things have been going so far this season. Not that Len likes much of anything.
Anyway, it’s time for the first RESULTS of the night! First up, we have Ricki and Derek, Hope and Maks (ooooohhhh! dramas!).
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough are SAFE!!!
But…
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy remain in jeopardy.
Wow, show! Does this mean that we’re getting more RESULTS now? Yay! It’s the men who look to be up next. Rob and Chery, David and Kym, J.R. and Karina will all get some results. Soon anyway.
The results won’t come until after a production package in which the stars talk about their pros. I have to say, it’s hard for me to believe that the first thing Nancy noticed about (pretty, pretty) Tristan was his tattoos. I mean sure, eventually. But first, pretty face! Pretty accent! Oh well.
Also before any more results, Kelly Clarkson gets to perform. The song is “Mr. Know-It-All,” which is apparently a new single or something. Sorry for a lack of further information. I’m not hip to the stuff the kids are listening to these days (or you know, what the kids were listening to a few years ago when Kelly Clarkson was the biggest thing in the universe). Snarkiness aside, it’s pretty good.
Wow. That was a serious results-tease there. A production package, a musical performance, commercials and now an inspiring story? At least it’s all inspiring and stuff. The focus is on a dancer named Charm Ladonna who had a rough upbringing before making it in dance. That’s kind of cool.
Also cool? She’s dancing with Mark Ballas and Derek Hough. Also some special effects.
Seriously? Another musical act before we get any results? Sigh… Anyway, The Band Perry is performing now. It’s a bit of a change from the earlier musical acts of the night. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
And finally! RESULTS!
J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff are SAFE!!!
You didn’t really think they’d go home, did you?
David Arquette and Kym Johnson remain in jeopardy.
But…
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke are SAFE!!!
And Kelly Clarkson is singing again… I miss having zillions of dancers to give results to. Those shows went by much more quickly.
No matter how much Dancing with the Stars tries to delay it, the time for RESULTS has come again! The final group includes Nancy and Tristan, Chaz and Lacey, Carson and Anna.
Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer are SAFE!!!
Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus are SAFE!!!
Which means that…
Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya remain in jeopardy.
However obvious that last choice was, it still makes me sad. Could this be the end of Carson on Dancing with the Stars?
Whatever the final results, it’s time to get to it.
And…
David Arquette and Kym Johnson are SAFE!!!
Next…
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are SAFE!!!
Which means that Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya have been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars!
Boo!!!!!!!!!!
Oh well.
