Dancing with the Stars is more than halfway over with only seven couples remaining, and that numbers gets a lot smaller next week with yet another double elimination.
Week 7 will give the finalists a bit of freedom, as each couple can choose any dance form on the season so far they haven’t done. Combine with team dancing, week 7 of Dancing with the Stars will certainly separate the leaders from the followers as we narrow the field down to the final five.
Team Tango
Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough
Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson
Kelly Osbourne and Louis van Amstel
-Louis Tweeted after they rehearsed together, and overall, I like this team. Even though Kelly is definitely the weak link, they should all get a chance to shine.
Team Paso Doble:
Mya and Dmitry Chaplin
Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer
Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff
Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova
-Yikes, this is one ugly hodgepodge. You have the former frontrunner, the up-and-comer, the most hated celebrity and the worst dancer. I smell trainwreck. Mark Tweeted that they were doing a Samba, but Dmitry Tweeted that their group routine is a Paso Doble. I’d go with the pro, and that’s good news for Mark and Michael, who both got their highest scores of the season with the Paso Doble.
Joanna and Derek: Rumba
-After topping the leaderboard with their week 1 Salsa and winning week 6’s Mambo Marathon, a Latin dance makes perfect sense for these two, so expect a hot and steamy rumba.
Donny and Kym: TBD
-Donny’s personality can blend into almost anything, so it doesn’t matter what dance he does, he’ll get through week 7 with ease.
Kelly and Louis: Salsa
-These two don’t seem like Salsa dancers to me, so I question this choice. And with a double elimination, Kelly is certainly one of the people who could be in danger.
Mya and Dmitry: Foxtrot
-There’s very little these two can’t do, so hopefully the Foxtrot will help them bounce back from some time not at the top.
Mark and Lacey: TBD
-No team has had more momentum in the past few weeks than these two, helping to skyrocket from the middle of the pack to the front, so hopefully for them they can continue that trend..
Aaron and Karina: Jive
-We’ve seen that viewers don’t particularly like Aaron and won’t vote for him, sending him to the bottom even was he was higher than most people from the judges. So he needs an incredibly high score every week if he wants any chance of avoiding the bottom.
Michael and Anna: TBD
-I’m not sure if their dance even matters. With only seven couples remaining and another double elimination ahead, Michael and Anna will almost certainly wind up in the bottom 3 again, meaning they’ll either be eliminated, or they’ll head to another dance-off. While Louie Vito wasn’t very good, any one of the other six stars left could easily beat Michael in a dance-off.
It should be another exciting week of Dancing with the Stars action, especially with the results show featuring the Backstreet Boys, giving us all a chance to mock both Carter brothers simultaneously.
